Top December for Kwik-Fit Insurance
13 January 2009
KWIK-FIT Insurance said it had made a strong finish to 2008, recording its best December in more than a decade.
The Lanarkshire-based insurance intermediary, which was launched in 1995 as a spin-out from the Kwik-Fit tyre-fitting business, said it "continued to perform well in the highly competitive marketplace".
Sales of new motor policies were up 12.5 per cent on the same month a year earlier, with the firm writing almost 18,000 motor policies.
In addition, home insurance policies rose by a fifth on December 2007, equating to an additional 3,160 policies.
Bert Main, business development director at Kwik-Fit Insurance, said: "The new business figures reflect another successful year."
The firm employs almost 1,000 people and is part of the Kwik-Fit Group, sold to private equity firm CVC Europe in November 2002. In June 2005, it was purchased by private equity rival PAI Partners.
